“Their lives remind us that freedom is not bought cheaply. It has a cost; it imposes a burden. And just as they whom we commemorate were willing to sacrifice, so too must we — in a less final, less heroic way — be willing to give of ourselves.”—Ronald Reagan, Memorial Day 1982 (via life-love-laughter)
“He wanted all to lie in an ecstasy of peace; I wanted all to sparkle and dance in a glorious jubilee. I said his heaven would be only half alive; and he said mine would be drunk: I said I should fall asleep in his; and he said he could not breathe in mine.”—Emily Bronte, Wuthering Heights (via quote-book)
Hi! I will be attending UNCW next fall as a freshman and I saw in one of your posts that you went there for college. Do you have any pointers, words of wisdom, or comments about the school? I'd love to hear an alumni's perspective on their experience there and how it has prepared you for the future.
I loved UNC-Wilmington! It was am amazing experience! I feel like college is such a unique experience for everyone that I don’t know what advice to give! Especially any advice tailored specifically to UNCW. However I will say that on those gorgeous days when you feel the impulse to go to the beach, try and resist. I had a few professors that gave extra credit if you showed up when it’s that pretty outside. That being said, every now and then, take a mental health day, have lunch at the oceanic (get the crab cake melt) and spend the day on the beach. Bring an umbrella and rain boots. It doesn’t rain in Wilmington, it FLOODS! Get invovled in anything! Student Organizations are pretty popular in Wilmington and they are a great way to really maximize your experience!
Sorry if that was a little random and vague, if there is anything in particular that you’d like to know I’d be happy to answer!
